George Warner Hughes, Jr. was born on November 19, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois. He spent his life as a jazz drummer and played with many bands and musicians including Clarence Wheeler and the Enforcers, Dizzy Gillespie, Sarah Vaughn, Della Reese, Milt Treiner, Carmen McRae, Andy Goodrich, and Eddie Johnson. Hughes appeared on the Jazz Icons "Sarah Vaughan" DVD, the film "Festival de Jazz de Montreux 1981," and Jodie Christian's CD "Rain or Shine." George Warner Hughes, Jr. died in 2005. ...
